Our Programs
Overflow Cafe is a 501(c)3 nonprofit which serves Richlands and surrounding areas in both Onslow and Duplin counties.
We work to fight hunger and help provide daily necessities to families in our community where nearly 34,000 people are food insecure, according to data from North Carolina Caring Communities Foundation.
We help our community through the Blessing Shed, which sees an average of 33 guests each day, and our student-feeding programs, Operation Christmas Stocking and Sustaining Students.
The Blessing Shed
The Blessing Shed is located on the campus of City Harvest Church Richlands, 111 Kinston Hwy. The shed is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sundays for guests to pick up personal care products, diapers, nonperishable food and more. An average of 325 guests visit the Blessing Shed each month.
Operation Christmas Stocking
Through Operation Christmas Stocking, twenty Richlands-area families will be assisted with food and personal care products, as well as a bit of Christmas magic, while schools, and cafeterias, are closed for winter break. Shopping lists will be available mid-fall. To sponsor a family, please email overflowcafenc@gmail.com.
Sustaining students over school breaks
Through community partnerships, we fed 54 students in Onslow and Duplin counties over spring break. Another 7900 food items were delivered to 33 area students to fight food-insecurity over summer break.
